All throughout our lives there are different rhythms that we live in. Different patterns of our life that repeat. Some of them repeat daily. Some of them repeat weekly. Some of them repeat annually and then some of them repeat over our entire life. For many of these different rhythms there are ways for them to be disrupted but there is one rhythm that the world says that you cannot disrupt and that is the rhythm of our birth, our life, and our death. All human beings experience this rhythm. We are all born, we all live, and we all die. Try as they might, the world has not succeeded in doing so the rhythm has not been disrupted. Birth. Life. Death.
But this rhythm actually has been disrupted and this disruption came a long time ago almost 2,000 years ago. There was a man who was born who lived who died and then he lived again and never died. The Bible tells us that Jesus of Nazareth was born in Bethlehem to Mary. Jesus lived his life without sinning without falling short of God's standard. Jesus preached that through faith in him you could be saved from this rhythm. Jesus was crucified, he died on a cross on a day that we call Good Friday but 3 days later this rhythm was disrupted because he didn't stay dead. Jesus made a new rhythm: birth, life, death, and then resurrection to new life.
To receive Jesus Christ as your lord and savior all you have to do is believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you will be saved. By your heartfelt faith you are justified, i.e. made right in the eyes of God and by confessing with your mouth you express your faith to God and are given Grace and are resurrected to new life in his name. If you would like to receive the Lord today pray this prayer with heartfelt faith and you will be saved.
God thank you that you so loved the world that you sent your son Jesus to be born of a virgin, to live a perfect life, and to die a sinner's death on a cross. God thank you that three days after being buried you raised Jesus from the dead and that's by his death and Resurrection he disrupted the natural cycle, the rhythm of humanity. God I believe in you. I trust in you and I believe that I need saving. God I put my faith in you and ask that you will save me from death and that you will raise me to New Life, with the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead. I love you Lord and invite your Holy Spirit to fill me. Help me to follow you and to change me to be more like you.
